1. Dhanvantari Puja (day): Dhanteras is also Dhanvantari Jayanti — the emergence of the physician of the gods from the ocean of milk, carrying amrita. Offer neem and tulsi leaves and pray for the family's health; wealth without health is the emptier half of prosperity. 2. Lakshmi–Kubera Puja (evening muhurat, 6:02 – 7:57 PM): clean the entrance, draw Lakshmi's footprints walking inward, place the new purchase before the deities, light thirteen diyas, and chant "Om Shrim Mahalakshmyai Namah". 3. Yama Deepam (after sunset): one south-facing diya outside the main door for Yama, kept burning through the night — the tradition holds it protects the household from untimely death for the year.
