Who Processes Your Data

These are the service providers that process your information to run AstroSight, what each one does for us, and what it receives:

AI Readings

Google (Gemini models, through Google Cloud Vertex AI and the Gemini API): writes your readings, chat answers and the reports you buy, and turns facts you share in chat into memories so later answers can remember them. It receives your name, your birth details and chart (and those of any family member or partner you add), the questions you ask, your conversation and your saved memories. This processing may take place outside India.
OpenAI: used only as a backup, when the Google models are unavailable, to write your first reading. In that case it receives your birth details and chart for that reading. This processing may take place outside India.
Anthropic (Claude models): used only as a backup for our WhatsApp assistant, when the Google models are unavailable. In that case it receives your WhatsApp conversation, which can include your birth details. This processing may take place outside India.

Hosting & Storage

Google Cloud Platform (Mumbai region, asia-south1): hosts our servers, databases, cache and stored files such as your reports, and so holds your account data. Our MongoDB database runs on our own servers in Google Cloud.
Vercel: hosts our website, web app and internal order dashboard. It receives your IP address and the pages you request, carries what you send in the web app to our servers, uses your IP address to estimate your country and state at checkout, and processes order details such as your name, contact details and birth details in our dashboard.
Cloudflare: delivers images on our blog and runs the anti-spam check on our support form. It receives your IP address and browser details.
Amazon Web Services (Mumbai region): runs the server behind the early-access form on our Consult page and our older Android app. It receives what you enter there, such as your name, email, phone number and birth details.

Analytics & Error Reports

PostHog (analytics software we run on our own Google Cloud server in Mumbai, at analytics.astrosight.ai): records the pages and features you use, how you arrived (for example from an ad or link), a pseudonymous user ID, your IP address, and your device and browser type, so we can improve AstroSight.
Sentry (EU data region): collects crash and error reports from our app, web app and servers. A report contains technical details about the error and your device, can include your account ID, and can include part of what was being processed when the error happened, such as text you entered or a short part of a chat answer.
Google Analytics (on our website): measures how visitors use our website. It receives your IP address, cookie IDs, browser details and the pages you visit.
Microsoft Clarity (on our website): records how visitors click, scroll and move through our pages (session recordings and heatmaps) so we can fix confusing pages. It receives your IP address, cookie IDs, browser details and your activity on the page.

Payments

Razorpay: processes payments on our website and web app and in payment links we send on WhatsApp. It receives the order details and the name, phone number and email used at checkout, and collects your payment details directly.
PayPal: processes international payments in US dollars on our website. It receives the order reference, description and amount, and collects your payment details directly.
Google Play: handles purchases and subscriptions in our Android app. We receive the purchase details we need to activate your plan.
Apple App Store: handles purchases and subscriptions in our iPhone app. We receive the purchase details we need to activate your plan.

Messages

2Factor: sends login codes by SMS. It receives your phone number and the message.
Wati and WhatsApp (Meta): send login codes and service messages on WhatsApp, such as order updates. They receive your phone number and the message.
Sendiee: runs our WhatsApp assistant and orders placed on WhatsApp. It receives your phone number, your name and the messages you send us there (including voice notes and birth details you share for a report), and the order and birth details we send to confirm your order. Its assistant writes replies using the Google and Anthropic models listed above.
Brevo and Google Workspace (Gmail): send our emails, such as login codes, order and report emails (with your report attached), and offers if you agreed to receive them. They receive your email address and the message. Google Workspace also carries our internal support emails, which can include your phone number and a summary of your request.
Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google): delivers push notifications to your phone. It receives your device’s push token and the notification text.

Sign-In

Google Sign-In: lets you log in with your Google account. Google receives your IP address and browser details when the sign-in page loads, and we receive your name and email from Google when you use it.

Birth-Place Search

Google Maps Platform (Places and Geocoding): suggests places as you type your place of birth and finds the map location of a birth place. It receives the place text and, in our web app and mobile app, your IP address.

Advertising Measurement

Meta Pixel (on our website): tells Meta which of our pages you visit and when you start or complete an order, so we can measure and improve our Facebook and Instagram ads. It receives your IP address, browser details and Meta cookie IDs, and at checkout a one-way hashed (scrambled) form of your email and phone number.
Meta (Conversions API): sends the same kind of ad-measurement events from our servers. When you fill in an order form, start a payment, buy or sign up, it receives a one-way hashed (scrambled) form of your phone number, name, email and state, and for website orders also your IP address, browser details and Meta cookie and click IDs.
Google Ads (on our website): measures which of our Google ads lead to visits and purchases. It receives your IP address, cookie IDs and the pages you visit, and when you buy, a one-way hashed (scrambled) form of your email and phone number.
