Tritiya

Akshaya Tritiya (Vaishakha Shukla Tritiya) is one of the four naturally auspicious days in the year (Abujha Muhurat) that require no additional astrological calculation to be considered auspicious. "Akshaya" means "that which never diminishes" — investments, purchases, and good deeds done on this day are said to multiply. The Puranas record that Treta Yuga (the second age) began on Akshaya Tritiya. Lord Parashurama was born on this day. The Pandavas received the Akshaya Patra (vessel that never runs empty) from the Sun god on Akshaya Tritiya. Gold purchased on this day is said to bring lasting wealth.
