3rd lord or 9th lord (relevant to journey type) in the 1st, 3rd, 9th, or 11th house: The journey lord placed in a favorable house indicates the travel itself is smooth, safe, and achieves its purpose.

Moon in favorable sign with benefic aspect: A Moon in its own sign (Cancer), exalted (Taurus), or receiving the aspect of Jupiter or Venus, indicates the querent's emotional and physical state during the journey is positive.

Benefics in the 3rd, 9th, or 1st houses: Jupiter or Venus occupying the primary travel houses provides inherent protection.

No planets in the 8th house or 12th house with malefic quality: When the Prashna chart is free from malefic planets in the 8th (accidents, danger) and 12th (sudden loss, isolation), the journey proceeds without significant danger or disruption.

These configurations indicate caution, delays, or genuine risks:

Mars in the 3rd or 9th house: Mars in the travel house creates accident risk. The journey may involve physical danger — vehicular accidents, conflicts en route, or sudden aggressive situations. Mars in the 3rd specifically relates to road accidents; Mars in the 9th to complications on longer journeys.

Saturn in the 3rd house: The journey is delayed, obstructed by circumstances beyond the querent's control, or proceeds with significant difficulty. Bureaucratic issues, transportation breakdowns, and unexpected waiting periods are Saturn's domain in the 3rd.

Rahu in the 9th house: Complications abroad, deception from foreign parties, or an unexpected and unusual turn of events during the long journey. Rahu in the 9th can also indicate an unconventional route or unexpected detour.

Moon applying to Mars: The journey direction involves conflict, aggression, or accident risk. This is a caution signal, particularly for road travel or travel through conflicted regions.

Lagna lord in the 6th, 8th, or 12th house: The querent themselves faces personal difficulty on the journey — illness, financial loss, or unexpected complications.

Pilgrimage and religious travel: The 9th house is primary (it governs religion, dharma, and divine blessings). Jupiter's strength in the chart adds the dimension of spiritual fulfillment. A strongly placed Jupiter or 9th lord indicates the pilgrimage is deeply meaningful and protected.

In travel Prashna, the 4th house (home, mother, security) indicates the ease of return:

1. 4th lord strong and in a favorable house: Return home is smooth and certain. 2. 4th lord in the 7th house: The querent ends up at the "other side" — there may be an extended stay or a desire to remain at the destination. 3. 4th lord in the 12th house: Return is delayed, complicated, or the querent does not return from the journey as planned. 4.
