Kendra and Trikona are the two most powerful house categories in Vedic astrology. Together they govern the four pillars of life — identity, family, career, and dharma — and any planet that activates both categories simultaneously creates one of the most auspicious yogas in the chart. Understanding the difference between Kendra and Trikona, and how they interact, is foundational to reading any horoscope accurately.

Raj Yoga (literally "kingly union") is formed when the lord of a Kendra house and the lord of a Trikona house combine through one of three connections:
