Navami

The 9th tithi is sacred to both Rama (born on Chaitra Navami) and the 9th form of Durga (Siddhidatri — the giver of supernatural powers). During Navratri, Navami is the last day of the fast — the day when all 9 deities are honored collectively through the Kanya Puja. The Navami in Ashwin (Mahanavami) is followed immediately by Vijayadashami — making it the day before the great victory. The 9th tithi thus represents the final preparation before triumph.
