In this case, the ritual is called "Gruhapravesham after occupation" — the muhurat selection rules are the same, but the priest performs additional shanti (peace) rituals.
Can the muhurat be in the evening?
Traditional Griha Pravesh muhurat is always during day time — from sunrise to one hour before sunset. The ideal window is morning (Brahma Muhurat onwards) until Abhijit (midday). Evening and night entry into a new home is avoided in most traditions.
