Hanuman Jayanti 2027 — Significance & Celebration
Hanuman — the son of Anjana and Kesari, and the embodiment of Vayu (wind god) — was born on the full moon of Chaitra. His birth was a divine plan: Vishnu needed a perfect instrument to assist Rama in the rescue of Sita. Hanuman embodies bhakti (devotion), shakti (power), gyan (wisdom), and seva (service) — all at once. He is the only deity worshipped in every form: as a child (Bala Hanuman), as a warrior (Vira Hanuman), as a devotee holding Rama in his heart (Bhakta Hanuman). His Tuesday and Saturday worship traditions draw the largest crowds at temples.
Anjana, a celestial apsara, was cursed to be born as a monkey. She would be freed only after giving birth to a divine child. She performed intense tapasya (penance) to Shiva. Simultaneously, the sage Agastya gave a bowl of sacred payasam to King Dasharatha for the Putrakameshti Yagna. An eagle carried a portion of the payasam away; Vayu (the wind god) carried it to Anjana's open hands as she prayed. She ate it, and Hanuman was born — a monkey with a face shining like the Sun, tail like lightning, and strength that could move mountains. As a child, he mistook the Sun for a ripe fruit and leapt toward it — Indra struck him with a thunderbolt, and Vayu, in grief, stopped all wind. The gods pacified Vayu by granting Hanuman immortality and invincibility.

Vedic Astrology & Hanuman Jayanti
Hanuman is associated with Mars (Mangal) in Vedic astrology. Those suffering from Mangal Dosha, facing obstacles from enemies, or in Rahu-Ketu-related difficulties benefit most from Hanuman worship on this day. The Hanuman Jayanti full moon amplifies Hanuman's energy — reciting the Chalisa 108 times on this night is said to dissolve obstacles in the next 12 months. Saturn's difficulties (Sade Sati, Shani Dasha) are also eased by sincere Hanuman bhakti.
