Vijaya Muhurta — Sanskrit विजय मुहूर्त, “Victory Muhurta” — is the 11th of 15 equal divisions of the daylight period in Vedic muhurta tradition. The Muhurta Chintamani of Daivajna Ramacharya names it as the window specifically suited for “gaining victory over adversaries and completing goal-directed undertakings” — legal proceedings, competitive examinations, difficult negotiations, and important journeys where success against opposition is the intent.

Each of the 15 daytime muhurtas lasts approximately 48 minutes for a standard 12-hour day, making Vijaya Muhurta an afternoon window (roughly 2:00–2:48 PM for a 6 AM sunrise). Because it is calculated from local sunrise, the exact time differs by city and shifts daily with the season. Two cities at different longitudes will see Vijaya Muhurta begin at different wall-clock times even on the same day.

The name connects to India's deepest victory symbol: the Ramayana's conquest of Lanka, which concluded on Vijaya Dashami. Classical muhurta practitioners apply the same “vijayī” (victory-conferring) quality to any purposeful competitive or legal undertaking started during this window.
